PT PLN Indonesia Power Gives Mandate to Envidata Regarding Issuance of Recommendation Letter for Hydrogen Refueling Station

EnvidataID, Semarang – At the beginning of 2024, PT PLN Indonesia Power Unit Business Manufacturing (UBP) Priok, Jakarta gave the trust of PT ENVIDATA to carry out work related to Discussions and Publication of Letter of Recommendation for Hydrogen Refueling Station (HRS).

In the process of its work, Envidata has coordinated and discussed with various agencies for the smooth installation of HRS: Directorate General of New, Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Indonesia; Department of Transportation of DKI Jakarta Province; Environmental Impact Prevention Directorate Enterprises and Activities of Ministry of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia; National Research and Innovation Agency; Ministry of Investment/BKPM; Central Bureau of Statistics; Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia; IFHE and others.

Currently, PT PLN (Persero) through its subholding unit, PTPLN Indonesia Power Priok PGU, has completed the installation of the Hydrogen Fuel Filling Station (HRS) or the first hydrogen fuel filling station (SPBH) in Indonesia. The SPBH is located in Senayan 105.3 MW Plant Area JI. Asia Africa – St. John’s Army, Grogol North Kelurahan, Kebayoran Lama District, South Jakarta which has environmental permission No. 07/ K.1C/ 31.74.05.1004.07.002.K.3/1/-1.774.15/2019 with a total area of 27,815.95 m2.

Hydrogen, as a new low-carbon and abundant energy element in Indonesia, has great potential in supporting the transition to low-emission energy sources. Hydrogen consumption in Indonesia today is mainly limited to fertilizer raw materials, ammonia, and oil plants.

The Indonesian government has set ambitious targets in the National Energy General Plan (RUEN) to reach 23% of renewable energy by 2025 and 31% by 2050. In the context of climate change mitigation, the energy sector in Indonesia is facing demands for a transition to cleaner, low-emission, and environmentally friendly energy sources.

The purpose of the current SPBH operation is as a co-firing of existing power plants and the importance of research and development of hydrogen energy ecosystems from beginning to end. (Production lines, distribution and transport logistics, and refueling stations.).

Expected with the construction of this prototype SPBH, the hydrogen energy ecosystem as a supporting part of the new and renewable energy mix (EBT) is becoming stronger from beginning to end.
